My intrigue with life and the human experience led me down a path to become a doula. What better place to experience the magic of our existence than at the very beginning. And getting to document that moment for people? It is beyond words.

First, I'll take the question out of how to pronounce my name. It's pronounced Casey, spelled Cayce after an author's last name. Most people pronounce it Case, and I'm ok with it. I'll try to save you from the boring details of my background and try my best to explain who I really am.

Cayce

visual expressionist &
sentimental magic maker

I'm a seeker of new experiences - something I learned I loved when I packed my bags at 19 and moved 650 miles away from the only place I ever called home (NY). I landed in a little southern beach town - Wilmington, NC - and fell in love. I am a firm believer in humanity and the good that exists within it. Conversations that move beyond the surface into the depths of the human experience fuel my soul. Most of all, I love to have fun and look at the bright side of any experience. We only get one life and I plan to take full advantage of mine.

Life Lens Photography was born out of a desire to fill my life with more passion and creative expression. To find something I love doing and make it something I could do all the time. A way to gift others while also filling my cup. The reason for the name Life Lens, came from a metaphor that popped into my head one day, using the camera to explain the human experience. Stay with me here ...

Like the human, the camera has a body. The camera body controls the settings and the functionality of the camera itself - much like the human body controls the settings and functionality of the person. Then you apply the lens to the camera. That lens then takes those settings and adjusts the perspective at which the photo is taken. With each new lens, the result of the photo is altered. The viewpoint is changed. The lens is much like the human's perspective. (Camera body = human body, camera lens = human perspective). With each change in perspective the outcome of the human experience is different. The resulted human experience is created by combining the physical experience (body) and the perspective (lens). The resulted photo is created by combining the body with the lens. With each human (camera) and each different perspective (lens) life is altered - a new story is born. Life is altered by the lens from which you view it. Life Lens was my way of telling the stories of others through my lens - both literally and figuratively.
